After working with a lot of small businesses, I thought I would share two of the main reason they fail to achieve their potential.
- They have no goals. Most businesses have some vague idea of the direction they want to go in, but it is not written down. Because it’s not written down, no one on the team knows what the goal is either.
- The few businesses that do have goals have not reverse engineered their goals to set incremental targets to achieve those goals.
One of the most important jobs of a business owner is to keep everyone in their organization on course. Without goals, there is no course to head towards.
